Aveyond: Gates of Night is the second part of the Orbs of Magic series. In this case, you must help Mel find the Orb of Light to defeat the vampire Gyendal who wants to turn the whole world into darkness and evil. Like in most games of this genre, it is composed of quests that you have to perform in order to reach your ultimate goal. Like always, the game is full of witty dialogues between the characters that can help you understand the story a bit more, and also provide clues on what you should do next. In this game, you control up to four characters that have unique abilities that are necessary to perform the different quests and defeat enemies. As you progress, all the characters gain experience and become more skillful and powerful. You can also collect valuable items that you can later trade for weapons, skills, etc.
As for the graphics, there are no significant changes from previous episodes. They are nice and attractive, but not extremely detailed. Sound effects are average and the music is pleasant, but a bit repetitive.
In short, Aveyond: Gates of Night is just another epic game which certainly doesn't include anything new or impressive, but offers an interesting story and lots of quests.
